SWJ Trader Tier review 2026: a large public brand, a checkable track record, and a review pool worth questioning
Josh Nichols built a real, sizeable YouTube audience by making stock calls publicly — which is the one thing that makes this offer more checkable than most. It is also why an independent critique of a specific pick exists. And the reviews on the listing itself raise a separate question entirely.
Independent and unofficial. This is not Josh Nichols's site and we do not represent Stocks with Josh. This page is written by an affiliate: the Whop links earn us a commission if you subscribe, at no extra cost to you.
Verdict
A real audience, a genuinely checkable public record, and enough open questions to score cautiously. 190,000-plus YouTube subscribers is a large, long-running audience, and Josh's public, dated stock calls are more transparent than the private-alert format most Whop trading communities use. Weighing against that: the reviews visible on the listing repeatedly reference a different name entirely, there is no refund at any tier, and at least one independent review has raised a specific, checkable concern about a named public pick. None of that means the community has no value — it means do your own homework before paying, more than usual.
Before anything else. Stocks, options and crypto all carry real risk of loss, and most retail traders following alerts or shout-outs lose money over time. A public YouTube pick being checkable does not make it reliable — it just means you can verify the outcome yourself instead of trusting a screenshot. Nothing here is financial advice. Only trade money you could lose in full.
The thing to read before anything else
The reviews on this listing don't consistently name Josh
This is the most important finding in this review, and we want to be precise about what we do and do not know.
Both of the reviews visible on the listing at the time of writing praise "Mike's Money Team" or "Money Mike Team" as the source of the teaching and community — not Josh, and not Stocks with Josh, by name. One of the two does separately mention "Josh's Discord" being great, in the same review, which is the only thread connecting the text back to this brand at all.
What we are not saying: that the reviews are fake, or that anything fraudulent is happening. They read as verified purchases and we have no evidence otherwise.
What we are saying: we cannot explain the naming, and we are not going to guess at a reason — a past rebrand, a shared Discord across creators, a Whop display quirk pulling in reviews from elsewhere, or something else entirely are all plausible and we have no way to distinguish between them from outside.
What to do with this
- Weigh the star distribution more than the review text for this specific listing
- Ask in the Discord directly who "Mike" or "the Money Team" refers to before paying
- Do not assume the 4.6 average describes experiences with Josh specifically
Overview
What it is
SWJ Trader Tier is the paid Discord community tied to the Stocks with Josh brand — a YouTube channel run by Josh Nichols, also known as chart.GOAT, with over 190,000 subscribers focused on stocks, crypto, options and early-retirement investing for newer traders. VIP access runs $49/week or in discounted monthly, three-month and annual terms, with 984 current members. A separate product, Friendly Trader Tools, sells a screener suite at $79.99/month through the same Discord ecosystem. Both are rated 4.6 from 796 reviews.
The independent scrutiny
What an outside review has actually checked
Josh's calls are unusual in this category for being public and dated — most Whop trading Discords give you no way to check a track record at all. That transparency is precisely what let at least one independent review site publish a specific critique: it names a public "top pick" — PayPal, called around $72 — and reports the stock later trading meaningfully lower, framing it as a "high confidence" setup that did not hold up.
We have not independently re-verified the exact prices or dates in that critique ourselves, and one important caveat applies: the site publishing it also promotes its own competing paid trading alerts, which is a real conflict of interest worth weighing against the substance of the claim.
What makes this checkable rather than just an accusation: the underlying pick was made publicly on YouTube with a date attached. You do not have to trust either side — you can look up the actual video and the stock's price history yourself and draw your own conclusion.
Why we're not simply repeating the claim
We are summarising that a critique exists and what it specifically alleges, with the conflict of interest attached, rather than presenting it as settled fact. That is different from either ignoring it or amplifying it uncritically — the goal is to point you at something checkable, not to render a verdict for you.
Scoring
Seven marks and the reasoning
Our own editorial assessment, not data from Whop.
Unlike most Whop trading offers, Josh's picks are made publicly on YouTube first, which means — unusually for this category — his calls are dated, timestamped, and checkable by anyone before they ever pay for the Discord.
193,000+ YouTube subscribers and a channel active since at least 2021 is a large, long-running public presence, well beyond what most Whop-only trading personalities have built.
The reviews shown on both products repeatedly credit "Mike" or "the Money Team" rather than Josh by name. We could not confirm what that refers to, and we are not going to guess — see the dedicated section below before you weigh the star rating.
At least one independent review site has published a specific, checkable critique of a named public pick that moved against Josh's call — worth reading in full given it directly addresses the "is this legit" question, though the reviewer also runs a competing paid trading service.
$49 a week for VIP against $79.99 a month for the tools suite are two different products for two different needs, priced reasonably against each other — but the weekly billing on the VIP tier is worth doing the annual math on before you commit.
Stated plainly on the listing: no refunds at any subscription level. That applies to a $49 week just as much as the $1,495 annual plan.
The YouTube channel is explicitly aimed at breaking down complex topics for new traders, which is a genuine strength. The paid tiers assume you already know whether Josh's specific technical style suits how you think about charts.

Pros and cons
What works
- 190,000+ YouTube subscribers — a large, long-running public audience
- Calls are made publicly and dated, which is genuinely rare in this category
- That transparency makes independent verification possible at all
- Two tiers at different price points, so you can start cheaper with the tools suite
- 984 current VIP members — an active paid base
What does not
- Visible reviews reference "Mike" and "the Money Team," not Josh — unexplained
- No refunds at any subscription tier, stated outright
- 43 one-star ratings — more than two- and three-star combined
- An independent review has raised a specific, checkable concern about a named pick
- Weekly billing costs far more than the annual plan if you forget to switch
- No audited win rate published for the paid alerts specifically
Ratings breakdown
The full distribution, not just the average
The full distribution rather than just the average. 43 ratings sit at one star out of 796 — more than the two- and three-star ratings combined — which is the second-highest one-star volume of any offer we have reviewed. We show it because a page that only quotes the 4.6 average is selling, not informing.
Both reviews we could collect
Read them for yourself
Summarised in our own words from the public listing. Notice which name each one actually credits.
The longest review on the listing. Rates the teaching as excellent for building consistency with the technicals, and the Discord as a strong, active place to be — though notably credits it to "Mike's Money Team" and "the Money Team" rather than to Josh by name, alongside a mention of Josh's Discord specifically.
Rates the community an excellent place to be while learning to trade, and calls the teaching great — again crediting it to "Money Mike Team" rather than naming Josh directly.
Read the reviews carefully — they may not describe this product. Every review currently visible on the listing references "Mike" or "the Money Team" rather than Josh by name. We do not know why, and we are not speculating. Weigh the star distribution more heavily than the review text for this one.
The creator
Who is Josh Nichols?
Josh Nichols is the trader behind Stocks with Josh, also branded chart.GOAT, a YouTube channel with over 190,000 subscribers focused on breaking down stocks, cryptocurrencies, options and early-retirement investing for newer traders. His content includes daily market updates and public stock "shout-outs," and he is active on X under the same branding, describing himself as a technical trader, investor, mentor and entrepreneur.
What sets his format apart from most Whop trading personalities is that his core calls are made publicly first — which is exactly why independent scrutiny of specific picks is possible, for better or worse. We could not find any audited trading record for either him or the paid Discord, which is typical for this category and not unique to him.
Why there is no photo of him here
Deliberate. This is an independent affiliate site, not his. Using someone's personal photograph in the header of a third-party site reads as impersonation, so we use a plain text mark for identification and nothing more.
